Changes to Saturday July 10th and FAQs

After an incredible turnout yesterday, we took your feedback and made some changes to improve our event for the rest of this weekend and future events.

After an incredible turnout yesterday, we took your feedback and made some changes to improve our event for the rest of this weekend and future events.

Changed “time slots” to “arrival times” to reduce confusion. Arrival times are to stagger entry times and you are free to stay longer if you wish. Plan to come early due to traffic, parking and bag check.

If you have tickets for Friday but were not able to enter the event, your tickets will work for Saturday or Sunday. You do not need to exchange your ticket.

Buy tickets online before arriving at the venue to avoid holding up the line. This is essential because reception can be spotty at the event with many people trying to access networks at the same time.

Download or screenshot your QR code on your ticket with it ready to be scanned to expedite entry.

Pre-Covid, only physical tickets were sold at the door. We advertised online tickets only but have QR codes available to purchase online tickets for people who still show up without tickets. There are no physical tickets.

Increased staffing in parking, admission, security and ticketing to alleviate any congestion coming in.

We reduced capacity compared to our events in previous years but had about a one hour time block around 8pm yesterday when it was packed and incredibly difficult to enter the event. With adjustments today, we hope to prevent this from happening again.

Beware of resellers selling tickets that do not work. Some people were scammed and also held up the line to enter the event. If you can no longer make the event, please contact Eventbrite to exchange or refund your ticket.

Children 3 and under are free and do not need a ticket. Parking is free.

Santa Anita does not allow pets with the exception of service animals - it is up to their discretion at the gate to allow your furry friends in.

More general event information can be found under Event Info.

Thank you for your patience. We read all your comments and take into account your concerns in order to continue improving our events - your 626 Team

WELCOME HOME! The flagship 626 Night Market events are back for a 9th season at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, California. The iconic Californian festival features 250+ food, merchandise, crafts, arts, games, music, and entertainment attractions in an epic event that appeals to all ages. Come happier and hungrier together with friends and family for the biggest reunion of the summer!

We chose “Coming Home” as our theme this year because “home” is a place of familiarity and nostalgia where you see all your friends and family again after a long time like a family reunion. We severely missed all our attendees, vendors, artists, performers and staff last year when Covid put a pause on 2020. If this is your first time attending one of our events, then we hope that 626 Night Market will become your home too.

626 Night Market will have a phased reopening with reduced capacity for the July 9-11th and July 16-18th events. Tickets are available online only for these events. No tickets will be sold at the gate for these dates.

Dates:

July 9-11th (tickets available online only)

Arcadia, CA 91007

Children 3 and under are free. Parking is free. Most vendors accept cash only and ATMs are available.

Security:

The venue will have mandatory bag checks at the event entrance. Please plan accordingly. Security will enforce no unattended minors after 10PM.

Santa Anita Park does not allow pets with the exception of service animals - it is up to their discretion at the gate to allow your furry friends in.

Public Health:

Current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines state that people who are vaccinated do not need a mask and people that are not vaccinated are recommended to wear a mask. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) strongly recommends that all attendees be fully vaccinated or obtain a negative COVID-19 test prior to attending.

Attendees assume the risk of attending large crowded events where the vaccine status of others in attendance may be unknown to the individuals and for populations that may not currently be eligible for vaccination, or may be immunocompromised and whose vaccine protection may be incomplete.

2020 Dates Postponed

The 626 team previously postponed our May-July 2020 event dates but sadly need to postpone all 2020 events. We held out on the hope that COVID-19 restrictions would loosen and it would be safe to hold large events again but this is not the case.

626 will be back! In the meantime, please keep yourselves and your loved ones safe. If you are craving for food from some of your favorite 626 Night Market vendors, here are some who are still operating and are eager to satiate your taste buds.

July 2020 Events Postponed

As with our May and June events, we will also postpone our July event dates. All tickets for those dates will be refunded. We are looking into rescheduling those dates at a later time and will reopen in compliance with local ordinances. We hope that you and your families stay safe. 626 will be back!

It is strange to be at home in front of a laptop when normally at this time of the year the 626 team would be busy giving vendor orientation workshops, sampling tasty new menu items to debut this summer or setting up the iconic red canopies outside in the sun. We miss seeing all of our attendees, vendors, friends and family coming together to have a good time at our events.

It is with a heavy heart that we are postponing our May and June 2020 events. All tickets for those dates will be refunded. We are looking into rescheduling those dates at a later time.

626 is more than just an area code. It is a community made of each and every one of you and we hope to continue bringing our community together to create great event experiences and memories.

In the meantime, please support our vendors here. Many of our 626 Night Market vendors are small local businesses who have been affected by current events. They adjusted by offering delivery, groceries, pickup and promotions. Some also go above and beyond, donating to organizations that address the immediate and emerging needs of our region’s most vulnerable residents. We are extremely proud of our Night Market family and encourage you to continue supporting them through these challenging times.

Please keep an eye on our social media and website for further updates.

We’re excited to announce our collaboration with 88rising’s second annual Head in the Clouds music festival. 626 Night Market will curate all the food vendors for Head in the Clouds, selecting from Night Market fan favorites. We aim to unite and empower the community by serving as a platform for showcasing Asian representation in the arts and this collaboration with 88rising seems like the perfect opportunity!

Our collaboration was mentioned on Billboard:

Attendees can also look for spotlights on other hand-picked talent in fashion, art and, specifically, cuisine with all food vendors curated by 626 Night Market, L.A.'s beloved foodie event inspired by night markets of Asia that was created by Taiwan-born Jonny C. Hwang.

Artists so far confirmed for Head in the Clouds are Joji, Higher Brothers, Rich Brian, NIKI, Jackson Wang, iKON, DPR Live and Dumbfoundead.

Last year, 626 Night Market attendees received exclusive deals on Head in the Clouds merchandise, tickets and a meet-and-greet with artists Rich Brian and NIKI at our July event. More details to come about 88rising exclusives for this year!

We chose “Bring On The Memories” as this year’s theme to invoke nostalgia of our roots in Asia, where many of us snacked on delicious traditional bites such as squid skewers, fried chicken cutlets and guabao from food carts at night markets. Our 626 Night Market events are established as a quintessential Californian experience with OC Night Market going into its 6th season and NorCal Night Market into its 2nd, so many of you also had good times with friends and families here taking pics of fusion food for the ‘gram such as unicorn elotes, pho tacos and agua frescas in gigantic baby bottles.

For those yearning for memories of home in Asia, for those who come to our events every year and for first-timers, we hope that you enjoy an unforgettable experience with food, shopping, art, music, performances, games and more with people who are special to you. LAAPFF is the premiere showcase for the best and brightest of Asian Pacific American and international cinema. The largest festival of its kind in Southern California, LAAPFF is also a proud Academy Award®-qualifying film festival for the Short Film Awards.

Every year we choose a film to co-present. It's usually food-related because we're a food festival and we love food! This year, we chose Jimami Tofu, a film that explores the love between a Singaporean chef and Japanese food critic. Directed by Jason Chan and Christian Lee, it will premiere at LAAPFF on May 9th.
