Rules and Regulations for teams interested in registering for the HRZN Showcases, at Bay Area (July 27, 2024) and Arcadia (August 31, 2024).

Registration rules

  • There are two (2) HRZN showcases during the 2024 season. 

    • Last day to register for Bay Area Showcase: July 6, 2024

    • Last day to register for Arcadia Showcase: August 10, 2024

  • All dancers performing in all three events must be ages 16 and up. 

  • Teams will be contacted on a rolling basis about the status of their application. Participating teams will be confirmed for the showcases/competition at least 3 weeks prior to the event date.

  • Each showcasing team must submit a $30 deposit to lock their registration in HRZN. This deposit is refundable up until 3 weeks before the show date.

  • If a team is not selected for the competition day, their deposit will be completely refunded.

  • Participating teams who do not show up to HRZN show day(s) will not receive their participation payout.

Music Rules

  • Teams must send FINAL audio files via email 1 WEEK prior to performance day. Only mp3 and/or mp4 files will be accepted. Extensions on the music deadline can be requested up to 24 hours before the submission deadline.

  • Submitted audio file must have no profanity. This includes slurs. If submission isn’t sufficient, the submitting team will be given an additional 48 hours after the submission deadline to resubmit a clean audio file. 

    • Here is a list of the words you may not use any derivative of: F**k, A$$, A$$hole, B!tch, H*e, N!**a, C*nt, Who&e, Sh!t, P*$$y, P!$$, C*ck.

  • If the audio file is not changed or resubmitted, teams will be subject to penalty. For EACH curse word in a file: showcase teams will get $5 deducted from their participation payout. There is no limit to the number of penalties.

  • If no music file is received by the submission deadline, the team will be disqualified from the event and their deposit will be refunded.

Performance Rules

  • Performances must be between 2.5 minutes and 4 minutes.

  • The 626 Night Market is a family friendly event, so we ask that dancers refrain from risqué or inappropriate moves in their sets. Examples of these moves include: grabbing of genitalia, licking body parts, or inappropriate rubbing or grinding. 

  • 626 Night Market will not stop a performance if a team includes inappropriate moves into their set, however, teams will be subject to penalty if these actions are included. For EACH inappropriate dance move in their set, showcase teams will get $5 deducted from their participation payout. There is no limit to the number of penalties.

  • 626 Night Market will STOP a performance if there are any gang signs, other displays of gang affiliation, terroristic threats, or any other illegal displays (such as nudity).

  • Dangerous, oversized, or inappropriate props (such as weapons and sexually suggestive objects) are NOT allowed.

  • Other props are allowed (such as chairs or extra clothing), but they must be moved on and off stage by performers.

Stage Specifications

  • Bay Area: 24 feet long, 24 feet deep, 40 inches high (24’ x 24’ x 40”).

  • Arcadia: 28 feet long, 20 feet deep, 4 feet high (28’ x 20’ x 4’).

  • Both stages will have two sets of two stairs: on stage right and stage left.

prizes and awards

  • Each participating team confirmed for the HRZN Showcases in Bay Area and Arcadia will receive a monetary participation award.

  • Any violations in a team’s music file or performance will be deducted from their participation payout.

  • Payouts will be completed via PayPal or Zelle.

  • The last day to register for the Orange County Competition: August 17, 2024

  • All dancers performing in all three events must be ages 16 and up.

  • Each competing team must submit a $10 deposit PER DANCER to lock in their registration in HRZN. If teams do not submit their deposit along with their registration, the application will be void. 

  • If a team is not selected for the competition day, their deposit will be completely refunded.

  • Participating teams who do not show up to HRZN competition day will not be eligible for the competition prize.
